Santhome Regional House

The social work activities under Santhome Regional House, Mandya, have been boosted with numerous activities for the poor and needy in and around the city of Mandya. Regular meetings are conducted for the Self-Help Group (SHG) members, and loan facilities are arranged for them to enable self-sufficiency. With support from the Bridge International Foundation, loans have been distributed among SHG members to buy cows and buffaloes and to start small income-generating initiatives, such as small-scale shops and horticulture. Recently, a photocopying machine was purchased to assist the needy.

Asha Sadan Special School

Asha Sadan Special School, established in 2002 for the differently abled, is located in Kiragandur village. It trains intellectually disabled children aged 4–17. Hundreds of children who have never been cared for are brought under an effective system of training, providing them with a sense of care and respect in society. Currently, there are 167 children at Asha Sadan, receiving training in different skills. Many differently abled children in the area still require special attention and care.

Deepti Nivas Kalenahalli

Deepti Nivas Training and Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled currently provides vocational training to 40 students with the support of 8 staff members. The Tailoring Centre for Women offers a three-month course for 15 students, led by one teacher. The Kindergarten (KG) section has 33 students and 4 staff members. Four tuition centres in the village serve approximately 100 students daily, managed by 4 teachers. Additionally, a Host Making Centre supplies hosts for mission centres and the Diocese of Mandya. Regular house visits are conducted in surrounding villages, where three dedicated Snehagiri Sisters actively engage in community service.

Christalaya, Hadanur

Christalaya mission centre, situated at K.R. Pet Taluk in Mandya district, is renowned for its exceptional treatment of snakebite cases. Fr Augustine Mundyavil, a highly experienced individual in this field, has saved thousands of poor people from the brink of death. The collaboration, selfless service, and sacrifice of the Snehagiri Sisters since the inception of this centre are commendable and unquestionable. Recently, Fr Ashil Kizkkekara, a young missionary, has joined the team. Under his leadership, a tuition programme for 46 poor village children has been initiated and organises youth activities. Many visitors come to enjoy the beautiful Ayurvedic and botanical garden of Christalaya.

Karunya Sadan, Konnanahalli

The Missionary Society of St. Thomas the Apostle (MST) priests, who were engaged in works of mercy after the example of Jesus, found Konanahallithittu village to be a suitable place for opening a centre that would become a true light to the people of Mandya and neighbouring villages. This resulted in the establishment of a new centre, named Karunya Sadan, House of Mercy, in 2016. It caters to the needs of the village and the neighbouring villages by providing education to children, empowering women through self-employment and self-help groups, caring for the elderly, and introducing modern employment techniques to the youth.

Preethi Nilaya, Gollaradoddi, Koppa

Preethi Special School is a residential institution providing hope and specialized training for 50 differently abled and abandoned children under 15 in and around Mandya. Divya Jyothi School, located in the serene village of Gollaradoddi in Mandya, Karnataka, educates a total of 850 students.

Santhome Bhavan, Bannur

Santhome Public School, established in 2018, follows the ICSE syllabus and has grown to include classes up to the fifth standard, with 400 students and 25 staff members. Three Sisters from the congregation of the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament joined as missionary collaborators, establishing their convent in 2021. As part of their missionary apostolate, they regularly visit the homes of students, staff, and friends, as well as neighboring villages, including the SC village Rangachari Hundi.

Santhome School, Bengaluru

In 2016, Mar Antony Kariyil, the Bishop of Mandya, had a discussion with Regional Director Fr Francis Kureeckal MST and his team and inspired them to begin a school attached to an upcoming parish in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. Various consultations were held during 2016–2018 at different levels of the general and regional teams of MST. Under the leadership of Fr Francis Kureeckal and the regional team, and with the assistance of Fr Sunny Perumpuzha, MST purchased two acres of land for the purpose of beginning a school near BSF STS Road, Reva Circle, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Santhome International School, Sathyamangalam

This school was started in the year 2016 by Fr Salas with the intention of imparting quality education to people in and around Sathyamangalam. Currently, we have 372 students, and the first batch of tenth standard is preparing for their final exams. We have CMC Sisters here as our missionary associates, assisting in the school.

Santhome School, Kokasmannur

Santhome School, Ichoda, is registered under Prerana Educational and Charitable Trust. At present, we have up to the fourth class, with 400 students from 15 different villages. The Adoration Sisters from the Thamarassery province support us in all our endeavours. There are 11 teaching staff and five non-teaching staff working in the school. Currently, there are ten classrooms, one bus, ten CCTV cameras, one smart classroom, 12 computers, and one mineral water plant. We visit the houses of the children regularly.

Sevasadan Halagur

Sevasadan Halagur, a mission station of the St. Thomas Missionary Society founded in 1984, engages in various community initiatives. It operates a stabiliser assembling unit that employs 15 unemployed girls, helping support their families. A dispensary within the mission provides essential medical care, particularly for snake bites, treating hundreds of people. Additionally, Divya Jyothi School, established in 2009-10 at Gollarahalli, Halagur, serves students from 48 neighboring villages, addressing the educational needs of the region.

Swanthana Counselling Centre, Mandya

Mental health is a pressing concern, and this centre aims to address it by offering professional counselling and psychotherapy services. Karnataka, India, is witnessing an alarming increase in suicide rates and heightened stress levels among students. We frequently encounter young couples and youth facing family problems and tensions. Very often, we hear of suicides over minor family issues. The suicidal tendencies in this area are alarming. Although the need for mental health services is significant, such facilities are limited in places like Mandya. Recognising this urgent need, we propose establishing a counselling centre to provide mental health support and intervention strategies.

Swaralaya

Swaralaya Music Academy is a training centre for teaching arts like singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Swaralaya Music Academy, a concern of the Missionary Society of St Thomas the Apostle (MST), was established in Mysore for the evangelisation of people through music. It finds itself relevant as the world slowly realises the value and worth of music in the real lives of people. At present, Swaralaya Music Academy has shifted from Mysore to Bangalore, looking for a better future. This academy is helping all the Regions of the MST, and Mandya Region in particular, through its personnel, instruments, machines, etc., for choir, school programmes, dubbing, recording, editing, and programming. Besides, Swaralaya renders valuable services in all the schools of the Santhome Region, according to their needs.

St Thomas Adilabad Mission of MST, Boath

St Thomas Mission Station and St Thomas English Medium High School are the mission stations of the Diocese of Adilabad. These initiatives are managed and run by MST Fathers together with the cooperation of DST Sisters. We have 30 teaching staff and 7 non-teaching staff working in the school. The school has achieved great success over the past seven years in the SSC examination.

Neredigonda Mission Centre in Adilabad Mission, Telangana

This mission centre belongs to the Diocese of Adilabad. This centre was started on 26-11-2007. Mar Joseph Kunnath CMI blessed the rented house. Rev. Fr Joseph Vedikunnel MST, the pioneer missionary, took a keen interest in visiting the villages of this Mandal. Land for this centre was purchased on 28-02-2008 at Lakshampur. On 19-07-2008, DST Sisters joined Neredigonda Mission.

We are delighted to share the joyous news of the blessing of the Eucharistic Center named after Saint Carlo Acutis, located in the peaceful town of Kaggalipura on Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru. The blessing ceremony was held on June 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM, and was solemnly presided over by Bishop Sebastian Adayanthrath of Mandya.
